Lewis Carroll, C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Phillip Pullman all spent most of their adult lives living and working in Oxford. While their fictional works are set in alternate fantastical worlds, they all found their inspiration in the physical reality of Oxford’s libraries, living quarters, churches, pubs, parks.
